Full program description
The Center for AI and Data Science at University of Washington Tacoma is excited to offer this professional certificate in AI and Data Science with the following three courses offered.
1) Introduction to AI and Data Science: This course introduces what is AI and what is Data Science, their relationships, for which we will learn how to formulate a data driven problem, conduct data exploration, model the problem with AI, and finally validate for deployment.
2) Machine Learning: This course covers state-of-the-art machine learning technologies (from traditional to deep) to turn data into actionable insights, which also covers common applications such as NLP and CV.
3) Big Data and Distributed AI: This course will cover distributed data management and AI technologies.
These courses will be offered from January 7, 2026 to August 26, 2026, every Wednesday evening from 6pm-8pm for synchronized zoom lectures. Besides the two-hour lecture every week (10 weeks for each course), you will be required to do a self-paced 1 hour workshop using the recording for hands-on work.
This is a fee-based program and the total cost is $4,950 (all inclusive). You can choose to enroll all three courses at once or pay course by course (each course $1,650).
